A Toast To Tomorrow: Pathways to Excellence
BYSO’s 7th Annual Spring Gala | May 9th, 2017 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) celebrates their 7
th annual gala on May 9, 2017 at 6:30pm at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. “A Toast to Tomorrow, Pathways to Excellence” celebrates the over 500 children transformed through BYSO each season, as we approach our 60
th anniversary season. Hundreds of students from throughout New England achieve excellence through classical music at BYSO. Every one of these children starts from a different place—age, socioeconomic background and culture. Their commonality is achieving artistic excellence, and in turn they recognize and strive for excellence in all areas of their lives. Each pathway taken is unique and each transformation distinct.
Join us as we celebrate the extraordinary young musicians of BYSO—past, present and future, and support each of their unique pathways to excellence.
This special gala event includes cocktails, light dinner, a silent and live auction featuring tickets to
Hamilton the musical! The evening will be topped with unforgettable performances by BYSO’s inspiring young musicians.
Proceeds from this event subsidize BYSO’s financial aid program which supports nearly 100 families—making our exceptional program a possibility for every young child. This event is generously sponsored in part by McKinsey & Company and MullenLowe U.S., with additional sponsorship by Deloitte, IBM Watson Health, IR+M, and Ropes & Gray. Individual supporter tickets begin at $250. Full table sponsorships are available. Additional corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.

More about BYSO:
For nearly 60 years BYSO has served thousands of young musicians as one of the largest and most comprehensive youth orchestras in the United States.
The mission of BYSO is to encourage musical excellence in a professional and supportive environment by providing the highest quality orchestra training and performance opportunities to qualified musicians, grades K-12, and making its programs accessible to underserved communities through financial assistance and outreach. Each year, BYSO auditions 1,000 students from throughout New England, ages 4–18, and accepts 500 young musicians who participate in orchestra and training programs, coached by Boston’s finest musicians and educators. Through BYSO, classical music ignites a passionate pursuit of excellence, perseverance, self-confidence and pride within these young musicians. These children have a profound and life-changing experience during their time at BYSO, and it helps them develop into outstanding individuals whatever their life path. Under the leadership of Music Director, Federico Cortese, and Executive Director, Catherine Weiskel, BYSO has instituted several significant initiatives that have advanced the organization artistically to ensure classical music has a bright future in the lives of these young children and throughout our community.
