How often is it that a city's museums are mostly centered on music? Leipzig is city saturated in music history, and we are happily taking it all in on the #BYSOTour. Today's museum stop:
The Museum of Musical Instruments.
This museum is home to nearly
5,000 instruments (some of which we even got to try out for ourselves!). Current research at the museum includes digitizing audio recordings of every instrument, some of which are available
online.
We could have spent all day at the Museum of Musical Instruments, but it was time to get back to the rehearsal hall and play our own.*
We can already feel the progress since yesterday's first rehearsal with the chorus (was that only yesterday??). Tomorrow, we add our Bach Magnificat soloists. Another long day here in Leipzig... time for bed!

*Among the instruments with us on tour with us are six bows on loan from Johnson Strings. Thank you, Johnson Strings!
